Visited Research Sites: Doi Pui Research Station, Wanakon Wanakorn Student Training Station

 
Doi Pui Research Station

Doi Pui Research Station is only an hour away from Chiang Mai Airport by car. It's on the high mountains, very quiet and chilly during this time of the year.

Research site was an hour away from the main facility. Field area is about 4㎢ and long-term ecology research plot area is 16ha. Research is mainly about monitoring the species of trees and their growth and development. There is a monitoring tower(45m) installed by Japan.

 
Wanakon Wanakorn Student Training Station

Wanakon Wanakorn Student Training Station is 4 hours away from Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.

This field facility has the campground. It is located near the beach and 3 national parks such as Kui Buri National Park where wild animals such as elephants can be observed.
